Dr. Maria Konstantopoulou is Research Director at the Institute of Biosciences and Applications of NCSR “Demokritos” and head of the Laboratory of Chemical Ecology and Natural Products. Her research interests focus on Agrobiotechnology and has participated in numerous competitive research programs funded by the European Union and Greek national bodies. She has produced an extensive, highly recognized work published in international scientific journals, books, and international patents. Her work centers on the functional and sustainable utilization of scientific knowledge, driven by long-term strategic partnerships with the industry and the startup ecosystem. In recognition of her research, innovative initiatives, and contribution to bridging the gap between research and industry, she was honored with an award by the Athens Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ACCI) and the Region of Attica. Furthermore, she is President of the Association of Greek Researchers and possesses extensive institutional experience in shaping research policy and funding strategies.
